Nonprofits Collaborate on Local Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training

Johnstown, PA (September 18, 2023) – The Learning Lamp, a leading nonprofit organization committed to advancing education and workforce development opportunities, is excited to announce a workshop titled Why Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Matters: Moving Beyond Compliance for Nonprofits. Saren Stiegel, a seasoned DEI expert attorney with experience working with companies like Google and Ernst & Young, will facilitate the session.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are more than buzzwords. They are integral to the success and impact of nonprofit organizations. The Learning Lamp together with the Cambria Regional Chamber and Vision Together 2025 invite nonprofit leaders, board members, and staff to attend this important session. Participants will gain valuable insights into the critical aspects of DEI, equipping them with the tools to create more inclusive organizations.

Key highlights of the training session include:

• Defining the Rode of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Organizations
• Examining Personal Cultural Biases
• Discussing the Importance of DEI in Governance, Services, and Creating a Welcoming Workplace
• Exploring Strategies to Build and Sustain More Diverse Organizations

The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., with a light breakfast served starting at 8:30 a.m. Guests are invited to join us at Flair of Country, located at the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport at 841 Airport Road in Johnstown.
