New Fayette CTI Child Care Center Offers Opportunities for Families & Students
Posted on January 26, 2026Uniontown, PA—The Learning Lamp, a nonprofit provider of early education and early childhood workforce development, is partnering with Fayette County Career & Technical Institute (Fayette CTI) to offer child care for area families and learning opportunities for students enrolled in Fayette CTI’s early childhood and K-12 teacher prep programs in the school’s main building in Uniontown, PA.
Fayette CTI and The Learning Lamp invite the community to a ribbon cutting and open house at the school on Friday, February 27 at 10 a.m. at 175 Georges Fairchance Rd., Uniontown, PA 15401. The entrance to The Learning Lamp Center for Children in Uniontown is located at the back of the building.
This new child care program will expand access to high-quality early childhood education for families in Fayette County, prepare children for entry to kindergarten, and support working families and Fayette CTI students and staff by providing convenient, reliable child care on site. The partnership will also offer Fayette CTI students access to employment and an array of educational opportunities designed to prepare them for careers in early childhood and elementary education.
The Learning Lamp is a regional leader in early childhood workforce development with more than 100 students enrolled in certificate and degree programs, including pre-apprentices and apprentices pursuing child development associate credentials, and associate and bachelor’s degrees. The Learning Lamp will work together with Fayette CTI to offer students access to continuing educational opportunities upon completing their education at the career and technical institute.

We deliver high-quality programs that are affordable and accessible to families of all income levels. In 2024, The Learning Lamp and our school-based division, Ignite Education Solutions, directly served 43,056 children and adults. In addition, we worked with 87 public and private schools in 17 Pennsylvania counties and supported 503 child care and community-based organizations with free or nearly free shared resources, positively impacting another 53,384 children in 55 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties.
Our programs include: child care and preschool, tutoring, school staffing, educational programs for at-risk students, online learning, credit recovery, school-based substance use prevention, project consulting for schools, and early childhood systems building.
