Teachers guide children through fun, engaging lessons that incorporate music, stories, art, and movement. Each activity supports early literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills while giving children time to play, imagine, and form friendships.
Think you can’t afford quality preschool programming for your child? Preschool programs in Everett, Portage, Richland, Somerset, and Westmont are offered FREE through Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts for families who qualify. Private-pay options with affordable tuition and assistance based on income are available at all locations. Class days and hours vary by location.
For working families, preschool is integrated into full-time child care at several sites in Johnstown, Richland, and Somerset, at no additional cost. These classrooms follow the same structured curriculum as traditional preschool programs, ensuring every child gets the same great start.

We deliver high-quality programs that are affordable and accessible to families of all income levels. In 2024, The Learning Lamp and our school-based division, Ignite Education Solutions, directly served 43,056 children and adults. In addition, we worked with 87 public and private schools in 17 Pennsylvania counties and supported 503 child care and community-based organizations with free or nearly free shared resources, positively impacting another 53,384 children in 55 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties.
